Tom worked with WDA Insurance Programs, Inc for more than 30 years, starting in 1982 as a sales representative and working his way through senior leadership positions until taking on the role of President in 1993. In 2012 Tom retired from his presidency with the WDA Insurance & Services Corp, the parent program of the WDA Insurance Programs, Inc. Tom has been instrumental in growing the service offerings of the WDA to meet the growing demands of the dental industry and expanding the market reach of the WDA insurance programs beyond the dental industry, now serving the State Bar Association, Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, and the Greater Association of Milwaukee Realtors. Tom’s knowledge of the Wisconsin dental landscape, his relationship with many of the states dentists and his credibility associated with leading the WDA Insurance Programs for more than 30 years bring a wealth of knowledge and resources to Stepping Stone and its board of directors. Tom holds a BS from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and completed graduate courses at the Marquette University School of Business.
Scott Bukolt has over 25 years of experience leading dynamic and fast growing organizations successfully through rapid change and challenging times. He has led family-owned businesses through succession and understands the critical cultural, financial and organizational factors that can mean success or failure during a transition. Mr. Bukolt served as President & COO as well as minority owner of The Douglas Stewart Company from 1998 to 2008, where he played key leadership roles in the company's rapid growth, international expansion, and transition from family ownership to closely held status. Bukolt currently owns Wintergreen Ventures LLC, a small private equity investment firm. He also serves as President of The Angelfish Group LLC, a Partner of the Kegonsa Seed Fund LLP. In 2005, he co-founded a local outdoor retailer, leading the operations, accounting & finance, IT, HR and direct marketing segments of the business. He is actively involved in the community and has served as President on numerous non-profit, charter school and neighborhood associations' boards. Mr. Bukolt holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Wisconsin-Madison.
George enjoys partnering with companies and helping them achieve their goals through strategy, focus and operational execution. Since 2007 George has been a Venture Partner with OpenView Partners, a Boston based firm that invests in expansion stage software companies. Before OpenView, and after retiring from Oracle, George was making private investments and serving as a board member of several fast growing venture capital funded software companies including ScriptLogic Corporation and Fieldglass Inc. From 1990 to 2003, George spent 13 years at Oracle Corporation, most recently having served as EVP of North American Sales. While at Oracle, George was responsible for over $1 billion in revenue and over 2,000 employees, reporting directly to the company’s CEO and Chairman, Larry Ellison. George also served as a member of the firm’s executive management team responsible for restructuring Oracle, increasing profit margins from 22% to over 40%, and positioning Oracle as the second most profitable company in the industry after Microsoft. Other notable milestones in George’s tenure at Oracle include growing revenue tenfold from $30 million to $300 million in the Central Sales Division over a 7 year period, architecting the channel strategy for North America, and realigning the organization’s go-to-market approach from a heavy direct sales focus to a balanced distribution model incorporating telesales and broad based channel programs. In addition, George started Oracle’s Business Online Applications Hosting unit, which today generates over $1 billion in revenues. George graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Marketing & Finance.
Tim brings 25 years of strategic and financial management experience to Stepping Stone Dental Partners. Before starting Stepping Stone, he was a Principal of Baird Venture Partners and president of a private equity brokerage firm. Tim has advised numerous businesses in high growth situations, structured and negotiated dozens of private equity investments and transitioned businesses through ownership change. In addition, Tim has served on the boards of several high growth companies. At Stepping Stone, Tim leads the senior management team and works closely with the company's dentists, mentoring in all aspects of practice transition and private practice leadership. He also serves on Stepping Stone's Board of Directors and has responsibility for the firm's overall financial performance and investor relations. Tim has an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BIS in finance and economics from the University of Minnesota.
